Details of Sunday Services

8.00 am  Holy Communion: a traditional-language service closely following the Book of Common Prayer (1662). This service is a quiet, reflective service, with no music. It generally lasts for about 45 minutes.

9.30 am (1st Sunday of each month only) All-Age Family Service. This service is usually not a communion service. It generally lasts for less than an hour, and is particularly appropriate for children and young people. About half of these services are Parade Services, attended by the uniformed organisations.

9.30 am (2nd - 4th Sundays of each month) Family Communion, with Sunday Club for children. This service lasts for about 75 - 90 minutes, and includes hymns and a sung setting of the Communion. The service is in contemporary language.

9.30 am (5th Sunday of each month only) Methodist Service: with Sunday Club for children. This is usually led by a Local Preacher, and therefore is usually not a Communion service. This service lasts for about 75 - 90 minutes.

5.30pm (1st Sunday of each month only) Choral Evensong: a traditional-language service following the Book of Common Prayer (1662). This service is led by the choir, with hymns, sung psalms, canticle settings and an anthem. It generally lasts for about 1 hour.

5.30pm (3rd Sunday of each month only) Evening Prayer: a more informal service in a range of styles, including Anglican & Methodist Evening Prayer, Taizé, Celtic and healing services. It generally lasts for about 1 hour.
